Our Doctor
Alison Borek
Veterinarian
Dr. Borek is excited to continue the tradition of compassionate, independent veterinary care at Hooksett Veterinary Clinic. She believes that privately owned practices are an important part of the local community and provide an opportunity to build lasting relationships with pets and their families. She looks forward to carrying that tradition forward while providing a caring, personalized experience for every patient.
Dr. Alison Borek grew up in the small town of Webster, New Hampshire. She attended Lake Erie College in Ohio for her undergraduate degree, and also had the opportunity to study abroad in Gloucester, England for a year. She knew that she wanted to return to New England for her veterinary career, and graduated from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. She then worked at a mixed animal practice in New Hampshire for 5 years, before transitioning to a small animal practice in 2018. This same year, Dr. Borek became Fear-Free certified and quickly learned that this was a true passion of hers. She strives to keep all visits as comfortable and low stress as possible, to develop positive life long relationships with her patients. Other areas of interest include preventive medicine, internal medicine and dentistry.
At home, Dr. Borek enjoys spending time with her family, including 2 young children. She is an avid horseback rider and has a horse, two dogs, a cat, and a couple of chickens. In her spare time, she also enjoys traveling!
